The Birth and Growth of the Elevator Industry
Donam Engineering Co., Ltd. was founded in 1989 as a specialist manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders, units and oil coolers for elevators, and has stood out in hydraulic elevators. In 2021 it became the first in Korea to obtain hydraulic model certification for freight/car elevators, gaining recognition for its technology. We currently carry out sales, design, manufacturing, installation and after-sales service (A/S) systematically in-house, and going forward we will make every effort to build the foundation to leap forward as a global company, acquiring technology through technical partnerships with leading companies worldwide as well as through investment in our own research and development.
Production Capacity
Our main products are hydraulic freight/car elevators and lifts as well as special large elevators. Through the expansion of investment in our factory and equipment, we now have a production capacity of more than 200 units per year in Seo-gu, Incheon.
We also have the capability to develop and produce non-standard elevators that meet customer requirements, and build a wider variety of elevators.
Technology
Donam Engineering Co., Ltd. currently uses hydraulic cylinders, units and oil coolers developed with purely domestic technology, and through technical partnerships with overseas companies in Europe, such as in Germany, Italy and Switzerland, we are continuously developing technology to improve safety and to outperform other companies' products in quality.
With hydraulic freight/car elevators, for which demand has recently been growing rapidly, we were the first in Korea to receive design certification approval from 한국승강기안전관리원 and supply them nationwide. Management of each elevator system using networked PCs at our integrated A/S center has entered the commercialization stage, enabling comprehensive analysis and management of all kinds of information on each elevator and rapid accident prevention, leading elevator safety and service to a higher level.
Patents & Certifications
To secure credibility in domestic and overseas markets, and for all the safety components and systematic management of our elevators, in September 2018 we obtained the ISO 9001 quality certification system of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), covering development, production, installation and A/S, to respond to customer NEEDS, and our technology is recognized through model certification.
We have also obtained several patents and utility models, and based on government-supported R&D projects and the like, we continue research and development and continue to obtain patents.
Current Status
As an elevator company specializing in the production, installation and repair of hydraulic freight/car elevators and lifts, we have adopted a step-by-step named-responsibility management system, and we aim to become a leading company in the domestic hydraulic elevator sector within the next five years.

Company History
Since 1989, Donam Engineering Co., Ltd. has manufactured hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic power units and oil coolers for hydraulic elevators, supplying more than 500 sets every year in Korea and abroad. We developed 2-stage and 3-stage multi-stage cylinders (synchronized), and manufacture in-house high-pressure and low-pressure hydraulic power units and cylinders for industrial use. Donam Engineering Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in the fabrication and manufacture of hydraulic products.
