Hydraulic Power Unit Trial Operation Guide

Donam always tests and checks its products before shipment.

1. Preliminary checks

① Check that the main power supply voltage matches the motor voltage.

- Check the nameplate and the main supply voltage

- A △ 220 V motor can be used as Y 380 V.

② Check the motor wiring (see the wiring diagram attached inside the terminal box cover).

③ Check the piping connections of the cylinder and hydraulic power unit.

④ Before filling the tank with oil, check once more for foreign matter inside.

Donam hydraulic power units have a white epoxy coating inside, so moisture and foreign matter can be seen easily.

⑤ Check that there is enough oil in the tank (can be checked with the oil level gauge).

2. Trial operation guide – carry out the trial operation only after the checks above are complete.

① Check whether anyone is inside or outside (on top of) the elevator, and carry out the trial operation with two or more people exchanging safety signals between the car and the elevator. Pay particular attention to preventing accidents.

② Open the shut-off valve and run briefly for about 1–2 seconds.

Judge the motor's direction of rotation by the sound of the motor and pump. A loud roaring noise means the phases are reversed; swap the phases of the main power supply.

Note: A roaring noise can also occur with single-phasing, so if the noise continues after swapping the phases, check the voltage of each phase (main power supply, breaker switch, magnetic switch, terminal block, etc.). If the sound is smooth, it is running normally.

③ Run while checking that the solenoids are energized (you can feel the magnetic force directly by hand).

Note: Donam solenoid voltage is DC 110 V.

④ Run while watching the pressure gauge so that the specified pressure is not exceeded. If the car does not move up, or is delayed, while solenoid A is energized, adjust while referring to valve adjustment and elevator troubleshooting.

⑤ Move the elevator car upward manually (at low speed), checking that nothing touches the top of the car and that the car is not caught on the guide rails, etc.

⑥ The air inside the cylinder must be bled. Donam cylinders are designed and made so that air can be bled safely and easily at the head flange.

⑦ After moving up to the top floor, check once more for any abnormality, then travel downward to the bottom floor (manual operation).

3. When manual operation is completely finished and there are no problems, switch to automatic operation (high-speed operation).

4. If any abnormality occurs during trial operation or adjustment is not possible, stop operation immediately and contact Donam.
